I Spy a Polar Bear – Winter-Themed Math & Literacy Activities for Preschoolers
A fun-filled book and plethora activities to reinforce vocabulary, language, numeracy, and reading comprehension.
Description
Description
Themed activities for mathematics and literacy are designed to provide an environment for preschoolers to develop language and collaborate with peers. Collaboration and positive interactions between peers foster language skills. The activities are designed to be completed with a group of students with various levels of understanding of language. Preschool children should be using conversation and building connections during play.
A read-aloud is the central focus of the other resources within the bundle. All the activities are designed to reinforce vocabulary, build language, and familiarize students with the story through multiple activities. At the preschool age, our role is to foster a love for reading and develop an understanding of how to interact with books. All students can engage in the activity through shared knowledge of the text. The read-aloud book is colorful and engaging for students to read. Print multiple copies to place in different centers around the room.

Instructional Practices – Video Library
I created these resources to allow educators to have low-prep activities with high instructional value. These resources have been tested by multiple educational professionals in private practices and classrooms with diverse needs of students. In addition, instructional practices have been validated and shown to build language in preschool children.
I decided that video was a better medium for describing and demonstrating how the resources will be used with young children. The product includes information about how to access video content. The video content will allow you to experience how to teach the materials and how to design your lessons to develop your student’s knowledge.
Coming Soon! – Lesson Planner Forms
Lesson planning should not take away from your life. I am working on developing digital forms to allow educational professionals to choose different instructional tools, instead of typing long paragraphs. The planner will contain drop-down menus and copied text you can use to insert strategies into the lesson plan.
Educational professionals and clinicians can learn more about how to infuse targeted and intentional planning into these lessons by reading the blog, booking professional development services, or purchasing the Developing Language curriculum. If you would like to learn more about my work on language development, search the Developing Language website for more details.
